Brief History: Thurnir was born to his parents Hafrold and Ynglvild, his twin brother is called Thornir. They are from Skandinavia, where they were born. They were both taught how to read and write sagas, so they could pass their legacy down the line, like their father did before he died of an old battle wound. Thurnir and his brother Thornir grew up together, always fighting with wooden swords and practising fighting with their father Hafrold for future raids to the east (to Russia). When they were old enough, the Jarl of the land they lived in made the boys part of his raiding party, yet they were only 13. In the EastThurnir and Thornir now on their first raid to the East, they had landed on the shores of Ingria and started looting and pillaging the country side. Thurnir and Thornir didn't get to fight anyone as all the people ran away as they saw the Raiders. They got back to their ship with simple tools and some fine axes they had found. They sailed back home to Skandinavia and continued helping their father with the farm and practising combat with shield and axe.Thornir and Thurnir split their loot and now had their very own weapons to use.To the WestNow as Thurnir and Thornir were older, around 20, they had set on another journey, to the West. They had heard there are unimaginable riches and loot in the West. They had yet again joined their Jarls raiding party, this time they have set sail for West. Many nights had passed and a storm had came, the ships had started to sink around them. Many had disappeared from his sight and now the great waves were coming for his and his brother Thornirs ship. Thurnir had hit his head and fallen unconcious.CrashedThurnir and Thornir now crashed on the unknown shores. Thurnir was waken up by his brother and they had started to scavenge what they could find from the ship, Weapons and Shields and some of the other raiders armor. Thurnir feared they had crashed on the Pictish lands, mighty warriors wearing kilts. Those Picts who had killed many of their raiding parties in the past. They left from the crashed ship and started walking, in hopes of finding a place to rest, eat and find some of their countrymen at the same time. Thurnir and Thornir both agreed on establishing a colony of their own in this fertile looking land, as back home they had only fish and rock.

Please add some more details and revise for spelling mistakes. This is overly brief. The biography remains pending.

More detail in all of the sections of the biography. They are divided up nicely, but they are all rather small when it comes to actual content.

If you want to be able to read you need a well explained special circumstance for why you can read. You would not have learnt it from your father unless he was a Christian priest. The vast vast majority of people were not able to read and write. Perhaps you were taught sagas/stories orally and have them orally? Being able to read and write from a pagan norse guy would be very very very very impossible/very unlikely.

In addition, maybe make some distinction between your character and your friends character because the biographies are extremely alike.

In addition, maybe make some distinction between your character and your friends character because the biographies are extremely alike. We tried, but it is hard to make a storyline from 2 different perspectives as neither me or him have an already set story to write from. And they are twins aswell, always together and so on. Also, reading and writing sagas doesn't really help much in England... as the ENGLISH did not write sagas in the same old Norse as Skandinavians did. So it means we can only read sagas and write sagas, which does not help us at all in England.

Okay, the bios are fine. Concerning the sagas I have done some research. "Classic sagas were composed in the 13th century. Scholars once believed that these sagas were transmitted orally from generation to generation until scribes wrote them down in the 13th century." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SagaFeel free to check for yourself. You are welcome to roleplay that you orally teach sagas or something of that nature but being able to write them will not be available to any Norse character, or Icelandic character, or any other character from a culture that has produced sagas.
